Cl55 stalling when put into drive
H!
I finally broke down last night for the first time lol.
I was hanging out with a friend and bef9re I left his house he wanted to see how fast the car was. I went about 2 miles down the road 0-140mph, then turned around and did a burnout, then 0-140 or so again.
Car was running fine no problems anywhere, then coming to the end of the second stretch, it died.
I had to drive someone else's car home and leave mine.. what do you guys think?
I did not see any warning lights on the dash, the car just felt like it ran out of fuel.
Upon restarting, the car runs fine in nuetral. When put into drive it dies immediately. I was able to get it in the drive way by feathering nuetral to drive but it was still trying to die each time.
I'm going to go by there this morning with a gas can, just to be sure. My gas gauge reads half a tank but who knows.
Any help is appreciated

get the codes read. i have a feeling you either burnt out the ignition voltage transformer, or the coil packs. codes will give you an idea of what's wrong.
sorry i have v12 on the mind. don't think you have a ignition voltage transformer, or coil packs on your car. some one else better chime in.

There is no check engine light..
I have a good scanner but it only reads and resets dtcs and will also show Realtime data (air, fuel, spark I believe)
I have a perfectly running 2004 e55 (happy birthday baby) that I believe I can take coil packs from to try on the cl55 to eliminate the coil packs?
The car will start and run, idles fine but when I give it throttle it won't Rev high and the rpms vary up and down. I will get a video up today.
Thanks for any input,
Kenny

cl55 stalls under load, no acceleration
possibly, I have not changed pump or filter, and car has 70k.
a bit of background. ive only put about 1000 miles on the car since I installed the 3000 rpm stall converter and brand new alternator.
I checked battery voltage today with car off .. 12.3
I may replace fuel filter & pump first- weather it is the culprit or not it will be good to have it done and I will be able to eliminate this from the list of maybes.
im kind of stumped, and just trying to do lots of research before I start throwing parts at it..
thanks for the help

So I plugged my computer in today and I got a code for faulty throttle positioning sensor.
So i figured phew great, easy fix!!
Not.
I am learning that they are non- serviceable and I will be needing to but a new throttle body..
I already planned on buying a upgraded tb, but i guess the car was a little more impatient than me..
Are there options besides replacing the whole thing?
Is this common for a modded car to have this happen with so little miles? (72k)
I will be doing all work myself.. so if you guys have any tips or tricks or you want to point me in the right direction as far as buying a new part, please feel free!

Should i replace the pedal first? Is there a way to tell if it is the pedal or the actual tps in the throttle body?
Im going to go with am 82mm tb and do the install myself if i decide that's what needs to be done..
im looking at about 2000$ for the kit from eurocharged..
Please let me know if you guys can help me get this figured out. Id hate to buy a pedal if i domt need it.. and i domt really want to buy a tb yet if i dont have to.
I did hear a sort of ticking behind the supercharger when running.. leading me to think the tb is indeed the problem.
Thanks

the pedal is pretty cheap and fairly easy to replace.

Well i went ahead and ordered a pedal from amazon for 150$ shipped.
It should be here on the seventh.
I'll get it put on and report back.
Im really hoping this will fix my problem!
Can anyone tell me the difference between p0110 and and a p0221?
I have looked them both up and they are very similar.
Thanks

I replaced the pedal and it did not fix my problem.
I emailed eurocharge about their upgraded 82mm tb.. i guess i will be making the plunge and ordering this this week.
Anything else you guys could think b of to check before i do? Does this seem normal behavior for a faulty tps?
Thanks !

The transmission in those cars can have a failure where it locks up internally, so once you engage drive it stalls the engine. I forget what exactly fails but it's something related to the TCC or the solenoid that controls it. Have you ever done a trans service on it? Research the 722.6 cold stalling I believe it's called.
