Mercedes CL600 Brabus
ABC major mystery issue
Hi all,
I have a 2007 CL600 (W216) Brabus.
Whilst driving at around 120-130kmh, the suspension suddenly went crazy - left - right - up - down - FR - LR - LF - RR erratically!
Have since had the system flushed, replaced a "block"? Then all seemed fine for around 3 months.
A couple of days ago, it happened again, but only at around 30kmh thankfully and wasn't as much of a violent movement.
The garage cannot find any faults on the dianostics.
No warning lights or messages show on the dashboard when it happens either...
Is it possible that the ABC system is doing a self calibration while i'm driving? If so, what could cause it?
Has anyone ever experienced this issue?
Thanks

MBWorld Fanatic!
ABC should not cause the car to shake to "self calibrate". I have no idea what could cause it, sounds like a bad sensor and the ABC is trying to compensate for the corrupted signal. There are several sensors on the car to detect pitch, yaw, roll, etc. My guess is one is going bad.

I had the same thing happen to me a while back. I did some research and found a TSB that addressed this issue however, it was for the 2000-2002 model years. The problem is with the acceleration sensors located on the strut towers and yaw sensor located ???? (sorry, not sure where). My CL is a 2005 so the TSB was NOT specific to my MY because Mercedes began using an updated version of the sensors. Anyway, I changed the ones on the strut towers, just to see, and that fixed the problem.
May be worth a try.
