“Within 60 seconds of being on the dyno at full power, the CL65's turbos and exhaust are red hot. AMG bench-tests all its engines”

I guess there’s no need for any break-in period on an AMG.

Those wheels look to have painted centers. I'm liking that look.

Is that an AMG special order option?

Do you think it's powder coated?

Maybe I'll do that with my old E55 wheels.

It is the new thing they are doing on the 19" '65' wheels only.

It is paint/powdercoat for sure.

is it really wise to get the car up to 186mph right out of the factory like that? even though the factory bench tests the engines beforehand, they cant be completely broken in. i guess though if its not your car and its "only" a press car, i would do the same.

The better question would be is it really wise to be driving 186mph anyhow.

My thoughts exactly. When I took delivery of my car last year, I asked the dealer about this, and they said the factory (MB SA) told them the car still has to broken in. Doesn't make any sense.

Well it's not just the engine that needs to be broken in, you still have the transmission and other parts of the car.
