Keyless Go Batteries

Just a heads up for Keyless Go owners. Thew last month when attempting to lock my doors via Keyless go I have noticed about 60% of the time the doors would not lock.

I figured I would the dealer look into this at my next service which should be coming up in a couple months.

The other day I got the message "Key Card Batteries Check" on the MFD when starting the car.

I replaced the 2 CR2025 batteries in the Keyless Go card and it fixed the problem.

Doors lock instantly, open instantly and the car starts instantly. Looks like with daily use the batteries last about 23 months before getting low to the point that the transmission gets weak.

That is good to know. My car was in service late March 2003 and lately I have noticed a delay in response from the doors and trunk so should take the cards to the dealer for a battery change. The cards may have been made well before the car's delivery so the batteries are probably close to two years old.

awiner- did you do this yourself or does the dealer have to reprogram the card key?

No re-programming required. Just change the batteries....
