2014 CLA 45 AMG
Rebellion stage one arrived!!
Well when I got home yesterday I saw a package on the porch. The first thing I noticed was that the package was torn and I cringed. The box appeared intact and contained a wire harness (plug and play) and a Rebellion "black box" and a couple black plastic zip ties. I was surprised to find no directions in the package. I was not sure if someone tampered with the box or it was an oversight, either way no instruction. This means I have no idea how to install.
I e-mailed Matt at Rebellion, and to his credit he responded quickly and provided a link to instructions. I am pretty good with cars, but I will say I had a hard time with this initially, as you guys know what an AMG engine looks like. I did figure it out and got the system installed. The directions to not say what to do with the actual Rebellion box or how to secure it or to what. I also do not know exactly how to disconnect the system when I bring the car for service. Do I just unplug the Rebellion box and cap it? Or do I disconnect the entire system, which will be a major pain? I have not driven car yet and I will update on the performance. I will say that Rebellion Automotive (Matt) has been great thus far and has always answered me via e-mail.

Thanks Force, Rebellion suggested removing the entire system? Seems excessive, and a lot of work. I will definitely unplug the black box however. I don't know what the dealer would say if anything and I don't want to get jammed up. I put the box on top of the battery box and used Velcro. It is seen immediately, maybe I will move it.
How do you like the tune? Are you happy with it?

I'm very happy with the Rebellion ECU tune together with the TCU gearbox tune, the car performed a hole lot better than stock, also if I was you I would hide the box so it won't be on plain sight..

What setting are you a guys running with? I am experience some knocking with Canadian 94 octane (which is somewhat worst than CA 91 according to GT-R guys). With gas on 3rd/4th gear at low speed, I will start to hear some knocking around 3-3.5k rpm when I keep stepping down.. I am currently running setting "4" even Matt told me "5" should be good for 95RON/91 octane. Anyone of you here experience that? Thanks

A little bit off topic, but does anyone of you guys with tune box have "Pre Safe Fucntions Limited" warning? I have this pops up avg once a week with the tuning box and car was fine without it. When this warning comes up, the car will cut power and it will go away once I restart the car. It might not be Rebellion as this happened to Renntech box as well.

now are you sure that you followed the instructions on how to install the tune box and if you did then send Matt a private message about your issue..

Do you have a tune as well? I went to the dealer one for "Pre Safe Function Limited" and they said dealer said they updated the software for me. My car seems to work great without any tune box, but have Pre-Safe issue once every few days with a tune.

No I don't have the tune sadly. Just wanted to let ya know about my experiences since I experienced the same issues of having the pre safe functions limited, loss of acceleration, and everything going back to normal after restarting the car. (This issue didn't happen constantly. It occurred once per day or once every couple of days)

Ya I got it fixed after a full month of not having my car. Here was the conclusion "So here's basically what info I got from the dealership. The Error codes were C015100, and C015000 in ESP control unit.and various other fault codes related to ESP not communicating in other control unit. ESP control unit found ok. Traction system Hydraulic Unit needs replacement. ESP Electro-Hydraulic Unit replaced. ABS Pump replaced also.". Theres a whole thread on the mercedescla forum about the issue called "Having issues with my CLA 45"
