14 CLA45 K&N air filter installed and thoughts..
I just installed K&N filter for my wife's CLA45 AMG.
it literally took 2 min and 10 sec (2 min being undoing and redoing 4 20 torts bolts), pretty happy with the result.
you can hear the turbo spooling more, and the AMG filter was dirty (13k miles.).
you also an hear the BOV whistling pretty good (my wife doesn't like it..)
anyways, best $45 i have spent on this car so far,
and I will update with mpg drop/improvement.
obviously my butt dyne tells me, +4~5 hp haha.

Interesting.
Went to local Autozone last weekend and looked on their computer for the compatible K&N filter for CLA45. There was none in their system. So, curious if you can post which type of K&N you installed
Thanks

There is part number right on the post above ebay picture (e-0661)
Check out k&n website.
These are made for cla/gla/a 45 engine, not just any air filter. They clip in like oem.

I ordered mine on 1/20/15 for $54 and it was out of stock also. I would order it anyway, I got an email the next day that it shipped, UPS tracking says delivery for today.
Will be installing it tonight.

Just received the filter, noticed two loose rubber trimmings left inside of the filter element.
Be careful inspect the filter before install. Don't want to think what those two strips of rubber can do when sucked into the engine.
BTW did not notice any change in sound or power.

ahh, I good to know. I wasn't too concerned about the power since the car has enough for me. more sound was what I was interested in.
looks like that rebellion intake may be a viable option. does anyone have them installed that can give a review?
thanks for the review of the filter dtc100

I think there can be difference of intake sound if the old filter is really clogged. A new filter is much more open and has more sound.
My stock filter was still fairly new and clean.

I wasn't relying on my own hearing. I used my phone to capture before and after sound clips, both at the driver's position with the driver window open, and by placing the phone on a stand right above the closed hood where the filter box was located.
After comparing all four sound clips, the before and after sounded the same. If there was any difference it was not obvious at all.

I see. Maybe my filter was dirty as hell.
Mine did and i hope mine didnt sound like the one from k&n because this whoosh is pretty loud and noticible. And majority of owners might not like it.
