I've recently noticed a metallic grinding noise coming from the wheels on my '05 A160. (25k miles on clock)
It's been into the dealership and they have isolated it down to the pad rubbing on the disc.
This rubbing only occurs once every revolution of the wheel but it lets out a really annoying noise! Obviously it is more noticeable at lower speeds but never the less it makes this noise and does my head in.
The pads have been replaced and the engineer confirmed the disc is good for at least another 10k miles.
They have given the car back and told me this is "perfectly normal" and a "characteristic of the vehicle".
Surely this isn't an acceptable response? I wanted the car back without a grinding noise!!!
I work in IT and when we get a job we can't fix, have spent too much time on and can't be bothered spending anymore time on it we call it a "feature" so I kinda get what is meant by "characteristic"...
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any solutions?
Thanks,
Chris.
