1979 Mercedes-Benz 300D FOR SALE

My grandfather is selling his 1979 MB 300D after 5 years of ownership. He is the second owner. It has 279,000 miles and the only time he drove it was from Canton, OH(where he bought it) to his house in Richfield, OH. He keeps it covered and goes out to start it everyday. It is in good mechanical condition except it needs work on the vacum(he knows nothing about). It is an off white color with palomino leather interior. It featues an am/fm radio with power antenna, power windows, power sunroof, wood trim, and leather interior. It has no rust at all, but the clearcoat is beginning to peel off on the hood and trunk of the car due to wetness on the cover and resting on it. He's not being picky asking no less than $600 firm and does not want to be responsible for transportation of the car to the new owner. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask. I will post pictures of it when I recieve them from my grandfather.

Dont worry about all that. There is no need to go through all that trouble for a $600 car. I doubt I will be going out of state to pick up another car. Why is is being sold for so little?

Because he has 3 cars his wife wants him to get rid of and she doesn't really care what they get for them! He's selling the MB 300D, 1988 T-bird Turbo, and a 1967 Pontiac GTO! They actually just need the money for medical reasons. So, do you want some pics or a phone number or are you not interested anymore? Thanks again!!!

$600 is about $2400 less than most of them go for around here and I love the 123 chassis, so I am interested. On the other hand I doubt I'm going to buy yours becasue of the location and the fact that I already have a car in the garage and one to drive. I don't know if I need another project or another vehicle on my insurance. So, basically it is intersting to me but not practical.

It is in excellent condition and has 65,000 original miles! It has ram air, 400cid motor, his/hers hurst shifter, original buckets with custom diamond cut blue cloth, new tires, new custom exhaust, etc. It is Montraux(?spelling) blue metallic paint. It was appraised at $21,900. His asking price is $17,000 and all is open to all offers! PHS information available! If you have any other questions please ask! For this car I will get pics if you request them!

That is no problem! Although, like I stated in another post you will have to wait a couple days because in order for me to do that I have to take pics with an ordinary camera and send it in to have the pics put onto a disc to download onto the computer! I most certainly will get pics for you, but please wait a couple/3 days! No one in my family has a digital camera!!!

Few questions....

Does the car start and run and move under it's own power?

Are the tires decent enough that it could be towed with one axle on the ground (wrecker style)?
