WTB: OEM CLK-430 wheels
I am looking for a decent set of non-chrome, oem wheels for my wife's 2001 CLK430. The car has the chrome 5-spoke 17" and while we like the style, we don't like the chrome. Does anybody have a set taking up space in the garage?
Thanks,
Neil

These are not the actual wheels, but the same size and style: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...593054499.html
The problem with our chrome wheels (aside from too much bling for our taste) is that the chrome is peeling inside the wheel. This along with some bubbling is causing air leaks at the beads. We had a couple of them powder-coated on the inside to fix said problems and it seems to be doing OK for now, but we really don't want to mess with them anymore. They should be stripped and either re-chromed or powdercoated to preference, but then that means the car sitting wheel-less for some time while this happens. The easier solution seems to be to find some good used that somebody needs to unload. I doubt that we will ever get chrome again, and suggest to anybody shopping for used chrome that they be careful of these problems. RCrane, you still interested?
I don't understand why the wife does not want these:

My appologies. I was responding to the wrong person (whitee). Thats what happens when you use your I-phone and can't see out to the left! You (cracker928) have confirmed my concern about chromed wheels. especially since I live on the East Coast. Good luck!
