2000 CLK 430
MC3010 vs. MC3198 CD Changer
I have a 2000 CLK 430 and I'm looking to add a CD changer. I've found several new and used changers on ebay claiming to work for all 99-03 models (fiber optic), but I have also found two different models:
A203 820 9089 MC3010
A002 820 7989 MC3198
I have tried calling dealers, but they are not much help. All that I have found out is that the A203 is the new model which replaced the A002. They are not sure if the A002 will work in my car. Does anyone know when MB made the model # change and what the changes were? Will the A002 model work on a 2000 CLK430? I'd like to save some money and buy a used one online if I can. Thanks for the help.

The A002 model is correct for your car (i.e. if you bought it with your car then it came with that model).
A203 model is a bit smaller and newer. It does not have a spring to auto close the changer door.
