will these tires rub?

i have the opportunity to get a set of good snow tires cheap. question is, will i have to worry about them hitting or running anything. ill be running them on stock 16" clk wheels. 225/55/16. im aware that they are almost an inch taller then the stock size. its a 01 clk 320 if that matters.

The reccommended tire size for our car is 225/50R16. So there is a very good chance of some rubbing with a 55 profile.

Rubbing is a maybe. I believe our cars (unless lowered) have a decent bit of play inside the fenders. But an inch is a bit taller.

Your bigger issue will be whether it screws up your speedometer and messes with your electrical systems. IE, traction control worries about # of revolutions and/or angular velocity of the wheels. You don't want the front/back to have different diameters. Could also cause an issue with cruise control. if all 4 are the same, its less of a problem. Speedo will be off if your tire size changes.
