CLK 430 YR99 LOCKED TRUNK HELP

I need some assistance first my dashboard illumination went out. I just thought it was a fuse because it had went out before and they replaced it. I tried to find a change the fuse myself. I put all the fuses back where they were now my trunk is completely locked up. Please be technical with your answers. Here is what I have tried so far.

1. Yes the manual key
2. Checking the fuses on the central locking system
3. Pulling down the back seats to reach cable. Back seats wouldn't release inorder to access trunk. Unable to go through first adi kit too.

What fuse do I change to fix the central locking system. (yes I checked the code under the hood manual) I need to know from someone with a solution.

How do I get this trunk open?

Thanks ahead of time. Sorry for the frustrated tone.

No Results Yet

I haven't gone to have it looked at yet. I am a little reluctant to spend a $1,000 just for someone to open my trunk. I don't have any answers yet.

You haven't listed where you are, but if you're in the US, you can call 800 Mercedes-Benz roadside assistance. I believe they’ll send someone out to open your trunk. Other than that, many have been in your position. Some patience and the key will open it.

from the exterior, Just PULL up really HARD!~

i popped a CLK trunk open w/no key at a wrecker and found some nice goodies that were left over by the previous owner! (3 crips 20 dollar bills and a small stash of drugs in the CD changer area!)

trunk won't operate?!

hey man, last week my battery died and the same thing happened to me ...i could not get into the f-in trunk to jump the battery.....manual key would not open it....tried evrything you did crawling thru the back seat to get to the emergency release...no power=no operation of electrics.....get a battery jumper to energize the system... there is a covered positive terminal next to the fuse box under the hood...hook it up.... find a GOOD ground to energize your electrical system....pop/unlock the trunk to access the battery and go from there to jump or charge your battery...good luck!

Hello. Had the same problem with my CLK over here in the UK.

The problem is that the key doesn't get used ever. Im sure like me, every1 uses their remote key fob to open the boot/trunk. The locking mechanism gets stiff through lack of usage.

The following worked on mine & should work on yours:

Get some WD40 and using the straw, squirt some lube into the mechanism.
Having put the key in the lock minus the black fob, use a pair of pliers and slowly turn the key left & right being careful not to snap the key in the lock.
After a few turns, the lock should open..

Hope this helps.

U can jump the car from the front

First you can jump the car from under the hood, theres a little black box on the driver side that connects to the battery. I get in and out of my car all the time and I have no battery i use the little key, insert, turn to the left and push in and wolla!

Thanks gurpsingh you just help me on finally fixing that problem I always had since buying my CLK ! My trunk lock always was open even if I locked all doors you can open the trunk by pushing button!! I was always scared somebody would try open and steal something from my trunk. Now I don't have that problem no more I did exactly what you instructed and it worked !!!!

if you can remove the first aid kit. there are square holes under the kit. get some bailing wire and form into a loop, an find were the rear seat release cable connect and put the loop on the end and pull hard. if you can not get it to move, wrap the other end to something to make a handle and keep tugging it should pop an fold down.

fixing a mercedes benz sucks donkey butts. You cant get the scanners for mercedes to work, and less infomation in how to fix em. and still costly to repair. takem to a junk yard sell for scrape metal. I sold mine two weeks ago.
