Looking for replacement window seal for 99 CLK Cabrio
Hi all,
I've been looking all around for a replacement seal for the drivers side window for a 99 CLK Cabrio and I have had no luck. It's the rubber seal that is on the rear side window that the drivers window then touches.
Does anyone know of a source for these?
Has anyone replaced one before? How difficult is it?
See the pic if my explaination does not make sense.
I bought the car last fall. Haven't had any problems until yesterday when we (Chicago) got hit by 7 inches of rain and the car was outside. Got some soaking on seat and floor.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Steve

That looks like the sealing strip. Part number 2086700139 or 2086700239, depending on the side. They can be ordered at your local dealer and list for $45 per side.

I need to replace the right (passenger) side quarter window seal on my 2002 CLK430 cabrio. I was rather astonished to see that the price of the part (2086700239) had risen to over $200 (According to M-B dealer, Delray Beach, Fl.). Does anyone know where this part may be obtained at a lower price? Also, how big a deal is it to replace the crankshaft sensor on the 430 V-8?

Just google the part number and you'll find numerous places to buy the seal in the $75 - $80 range.
If you mean the crank shaft position sensor (a.k.a. CPS), replacement is just disconnecting the connector and removing 1 screw. It's a very common problem and if you use the forum search feature, you'll find plenty of DIY replacement information.
