Lamp Defective warning light - NEED HELP
#26
Found my unicorn
First bulb I found "defective" was the left rear brake light. Previous owner had installed a single filament bulb when a dual filament bulb was required. I changed out that bulb and still had the warning light. Went back to that location and found that the single filament bulb had pushed the two contacts down. Once I bent them back up, viola! Warning light gone.
Thanks for all the help and advice

This was the bane of my existence.
I finally figured it out. It was 2 of them. The first was a wrong bulb in the passenger rear tail light where a large sized reverse bulb was incorrectly in there. I replaced with the correct bulb. This was a step in the right direction with the help of my electrical engineer guy, Paul Albino of South Windsor, Connecticut and the part from NAPA of South Windsor.
The second was much more tricky. It was the passenger side vanity flip down visor light....which I normally would NEVER think of using nor checking.
I just found it.
Now, I have to get the bulb or fuse or just simply replace out the whole passenger side vanity flip down mirror.

I change new sockets, pairs of "osram bulbs", and soldering each connecting from each socket to the plate. Problems are still persist....
You cannot imagine the root cause is due to the wiring plug connecting to the tail light house.
I applied the underneath WD40 contact cleaner, the problem is gone.
I almost consider going to buy a new LED tail light housing at aftermarket, thank you WD40 who saved me bunches of money.

Newbie
I know it's a super old thread but wanted to add to it. 2003 CLK 320 Convertible w/ 200K miles.
Check Lamp warning when depressing the brake after start-up (Tried replacing brake stop switch = did not fix the problem)
Selection of Lamp Control Module to (R) rear fog or Headlight while depressing brake caused the car to "turn on" same as ignition switch position 2.
From time to time N7-1 Fuse #7 blown (Right Rear Stop lamp)
Replaced Lamp Control Module and it fixed all the issues
