I am a little worried about that. I haven't had it out much yet (I just picked up the rack today), but I've seen plenty of bike racks on the road before so hopefully it won't be a big deal. In MA we have to have front plates as well, so I would hope that having the rear covered wouldn't be too big of a deal. I guess time will tell.
Before this, I would stuff the bike in the trunk with the seats folded down, so at least now I don't have to choose between bringing my bike or bringing my friends. For that, the risk is worth it. |

Should have gotten the roof rack and bike mount, wayyyyy sickerrr!!!! and you can put cargo attachments and snowboard or ski attachments. and it looks better than a bike on your trunk and a trailer hitch on your mercedes coupe. haha

I spent a fair bit of time trying to decide between the roof rack and the hitch rack. I decided on the hitch rack for a few reasons. Firstly I didn't want to have a roof rack on my car all the time, which I think looks way more lame than a trailer hitch. Secondly, I think my bike will stay cleaner, or at least more bug free behind the car than on top. Thirdly, I now have the capability to tow a small boat or jet-ski.
Besides, I already have the ski-sack, so no need for a ski rack as well. I could even get a small camper trailer and have the fastest mobile home system you've ever seen!

Advance Auto Parts. I paid $167.07 including shipping, but this was after applying a 15% off coupon code I found online. (AAP15OFF)
Also, I highly recommend using fatwallet.com if you're not already. I got another 7.5% cash back for this purchase. I'm in no way affiliated, but it's worth checking out. |
