Question alternator question

I searched and could not find the answer.
i got 2001 clk 320, does our alternator takes 115 amp or 120 or 150??
i searched online and said 115 or 120
i called the dealer and said 150 and it will cost 645 plus taxes.
any help, i would appreciate it
im lost...
only reason i asked,i got that warning in my dash saying the battery/alternator and i checked the battery on the ac cluster, so its 12.0.
then i read some of u said it could be the voltage regulator??? i m guessing the alternator since it was making a weird sound for a while.

its a 115 amp, the bearings are probably going out in the alternator if its noisy.
9 times of out 10 its the voltage regulator that is bad.

Almost all the time it's the voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is a normal wear part on these cars. If you have the alternator out, pull the regulator and you'll see why. Here are some instructions.

Even if it were the alternator itself, you can have it rebuilt. Just check the yellow pages / Internet search for a starter/alternator rebuilder near where you live. The last alternator I had rebuilt cost me about $80 and it took 90 minutes. Although I have SERIOUIS doubts that anything except the regulator is bad.
