Radio on and not working / no audio
hey all,
about 2 weeks ago, i was driving listening to music when suddenly the music turns off i had no idea why or how. the next day, still can't hear anything thru the speakers... the radio is on and the volume is on loud but nothing. i go to the store where there is a lot of bumps and as i finish going over one the sound comes back on and everything is working again until recently.
last week they turned off on me again, so i went thru a store with a lot of bumps and it fixed it again, lol
now they stopped working again since this past Monday, been driving thru a lot of bumps / ramps to see if that can fix it again but nothing
i'm really clueless to this stuff, not sure what to do... i thought i blew out my speakers but all of them turn off at the same time. checked the fuse to the radio and it seems fine too.
i think a wire or something must have gotten unconnected somewhere?
thanks for the help... driving with no radio is the worst!!!

The factory amp should be located behind the left-hand side trunk panel. I would start there.

No problem at all. I think I ordered mine from crutchfield 10 years ago as a complete kit for most major manufacturers. Ironically the same tools used in our cars are used in Volkswagen and Audi. I hope your problem is fixed soon. Driving without music can be hard at times.

Agreed, sounds like a loose connection either at the back of the factory radio or at the amplifier end. Good luck.

hey guys, finally pulled out the stereo.. checked out the connections and everything seemed fine... tried another fuse and sprayed air in a can in the connections but still nothing
even worse, the radio doesn't even turn on anymore at first it did but nothing now
i'm assuming the stereo just took a dump on me?

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't found out the problem. At this point I would suggest buying a replacement head unit. I mean if you are still running the factory one.. That's a good amount of years of music, news and weather for one radio. haha. Aftermarket radios are soooo cheap now that it would be silly to not try and see if it fixes your problem. Plus its nice being able to plug your iPod in and listen to all your favorite music.
