engine area rattle at 2300 rpm??
Hi Guys
Can anyone help with a rattly noise I get at around 2300rpm from the engine area? It sounds possibly like the timing chain or lose pulley wheel but not sure.
I have tried a couple of things so far...
1. Disconnect the kompressor plug so the engine runs without the supercharger and the rattle noise is the same, so I know its not the Kompressor at least.
2. If I rev the engine to 2300rpm stationary the noise does not seem to be there which I think would rule out a worn pulley wheel, so it seems its only when the engine is under load and driving?
There is no lose of power and the car behaves fine.?
Could it be the cam advance as I read somewhere that this can make a rattly noise, but as I dont hear the rattle when reving stationary im not sure it is?
Any ideas what to check?
