Reverse click

When i put the car into reverse i hear a slight click towards the back of the car. Does anyone know what it could be,, thanks

Hi Marcus, thanks for replying...How do u check them. By the way my car has 59k original miles on it.

It's a visual inspection. Get the car in the air and look at both. If they have cracks, they're done and should be replaced. There is one at each end of the driveshaft, and they are normal wear parts.

02 clk 55, 13 GL 450
There are three bolts that locate the third member in the chassis. Make sure they are torqued and not stripped. The two rear bolts go into the aluminum diff cover. Mine had been over tightened pulling the threads causing a "click" every time going into reverse.

Sorry... the center section of the rear differential. There will be two rubber isolated bolts that thread directly into the diff cover and one vertical bolt by the pinion.
