Sticky Soda in Console Wires Please help
Hey Everyone, please let me know if this should be addressed or not. Two 52 ounce cokes spilled into my center console. The repairs were covered by my insurance but the shop failed to clean the wires & connectors and area under the gear box and switches. The shop got pain $750 for clean up detail work and actually broke and damaged the interior of the car. The dealer said the black wrapping around the wires falling off is not big deal. I am concerned about corrosion or etc.
See pictures
What should be done or is just replacing the switches and gear box it. because its an insurance claim they will surely low ball me and the dealership employees are idiots in my opinion

My bigger question is not that wire wrap but did soda get into those plugs and will that be an issue over time.
You could re wrap those wire looms with fresh wire felt/organizer and be done with it

99CLK320,
if your car goes into limp mode or starts shifting wonky then you have big problems. The issue has been cover many times. Use the Search function in the 208 forum.
