Putting 2000 SL500 18" AMg wheels on CLK430, have a question
I'm wondering what length lug nuts I need to use for an 18" amg wheel from an SL500 when transferring it to my clk430.

I doubt anyone will know the answer, not knowing the new rims.
What would make sense is - take off the OEM wheel, take an OEM lug and stick it through the OEM wheel. Then measure the amount of thread sticking out on the inside of the wheel. Then do the same with your new wheel. If the amount is not the the same, then get longer or shorter lugs so it matches the OEM set up.
Cheers.

So for the rear, you can either run a 245/40 with no spacers, or a 275/40 with spacers. (I got 17mm spacers for the rear)
And the front, I didn't try stretching anything less than a 245 for control purposes, but you can run a 245/40 with spacers. (I got 12mm spacers for the front)
I will update this later with how the fitment works out with spacers, and pictures if possible.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I ended up measuring and things. Word of advice to anybody wanting to stick the sl500 18" AMG monoblocks on their CLK430, you're gonna need spacers in order to run them with stock tires. For the rear, I stretched a 245/40 onto the 9.5" wide wheel, and it fits fine, however the 275/40 it calls for will not fit (it'll rub on suspension). The front, 245/40 on the 8.5" wheel DOES NOT FIT due to the tie rod sticking out. I invested in some spacers and extended lug nuts, not too big, but just big enough to get the wheels away from suspension bits.
