Anybody Know What This Wire is For?
Hi,
I was looking in my engine bay today and noticed that this wire was split. I was wondering if anybody knew what it is for.
If you're standing in front of your driver side headlight and look straight down, it's right in front of the windshield washer fluid reservoir.
Attachment 1:
The orange circle is the frayed end of the wire.
The red circle is where the other end of the wire is connected against the frame of the car.
The blue arrow is where I think the frayed end should have been connected to. There is a bolt at the back of the power steering pump that an O ring is connected around with no wire coming out of it.
The green arrow points to the windshield washer fluid reservoir for reference of where the wire is located.
Attachment 2:
The red circle shows how I think the frayed end would have been connected if it wasn't split.
The wire looks like it's grounded to the frame and also to the power steering pump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You've correctly answered your question, its a ground wire, just crimp a new o-ring to the end of the black wire. Same thing happened to me.
