Recieved a rotisserie and CLK shell with HWA Team markings, need more info!
So I was given a car rotisserie with a 1999 CLK attached to it via jacking points, the rotisserie has HWA Team markings on it, and the car is a brand new body in white (never registered). It came with a hand laid carbon fiber DTM front bumper, and an FRP DTM rear bumper. Brand new doors and fenders from Mercedes were included too. The car has a full cage installed, and the previous owner was an "older race car driver". The front strut towers are heavily modified to be wider than factory.
I'm wondering what I've inherited.

@sick430, I called dibs first!
It looks like an attempt at creating a track or even dtm replica, I wonder where the front bumper came from. Looks like a Lorionser/Carlsson design. Perfect for a CL55 transplant :

The front and rear bumpers are hand laid carbon fiber, they are exactly the same as the 1999-2000? DTM car. The rear bumper is made of thicker CF and has the cutout for the large rear diffuser. http://www.allsportauto.com/photoaut...-dtm_05_sb.jpg
I'm looking to sell it, but it has to go to someone with a lot of skill and money to finish what was started (to be built to it's full potential). The chassis was never registered, as it has no VIN number, it's literally brand new. It came with NOS (brand new never used) doors, fenders, trunk lid, and hood. I already have two project cars, and while I'd LOVE to build this, I simply to not have the funds to finish it the way it was meant to be. This deserves to be completed, but it would probably take over $100,000 to aquire the right parts and fabricate the rest of it.
I would assume that HWA supplied the bumpers at the very least, the previous owner was an accomplished racer, so he was probably able to procure these parts. I've never seen another rotisserie like this, no matter how hard I search. It's clear to me that it was built for this chassis, but by who is up for debate (HWA?) Apparently the PO owed some money to someone who has the rest of the parts for it, but it will be impossible to know who that is after being abandoned for 8 years in storage.
I'm located in British Columbia, Canada. I don't think I'll be letting this go for pennies on the dollar, if anyone knows of a racing team that would like to complete this, let them know.

I'm curious if the side skirts have been modified for the side exhaust?

Unfortunately I only have the front and rear bumpers, whoever has the rest of the parts most likely has the sideskirts and flares. (and the drivetrain) I wouldn't doubt that if the PO was able to get his hands on this stuff, he had some pretty trick engine and suspension parts too.

So cool! But that will take ALOT of money to finish and that's IF you can even find the parts. What's the ballpark price you're looking for? I have the perfect drivetrain for it. Or whoever buys this I can sell the perfect drivetrain for it! Including built/sleeved motor, supercharger, headers, carbon fiber driveshaft, bigger diff, huge axles etc etc

When you say built/sleeved motor, do you mean like this?

hey, definetly a race car by MB-AMG, but not a DTM. I have attached an image of the front of the DTM.
But I might be wrong, would need to see your engine bay. from what I can see, It seems like a VERY VERY high end race car build.
Truly amazing and a dream of mine. Thanks for sharing with us.

The wheel housings in the front have been removed, spliced, and welded back in (widened). Some parts of the floor have also recieved the same treatment, the rear wheel wells have been cut to enable tubbing. Whoever was working on this didn't get to finish it, so there are small areas that still need welding, etc.
From what I can tell from your picture, DTM cars are almost entirely tube framed, and this car retains 99% of it's factory chassis. It might have been intended to be a GT3 type car.

While a great project, this isn't a DTM, it's just a regular CLK she'll that can be purchased for $9k(if benz still have them available, two years ago they did) as a blank shell of a regular road going CLK you can easily tell by looking at all the mounting points for the interrior panels, the passenger side trunk air release valve mounting area.... The rest is just custom work such as the bumpers and stuff and tubed wheel areas. Again while a great project car it's not the DTM or a gold barn find. If I had the energy and the time I would have bought my car back from the insurance company and transfered it over to this and made a monster out of this. For the right price this can be a fun project.

Jonathon, its a nice piece, but this is in NO way a DTM car. This is in all likelihood a GT3 build, still amazing and would love just to see it in person.
BTW the cage is also very different when compared to the DTM cars.

Pretty cool. Let me know if you are interested in selling it. If you have the previous owners name it may be helpful. i have a few connections at HWA that may help in researching what this car is.
