Battery Died, charged now just clicks won't start. HELP!
Hey guys it's been awhile since I've been on. Been a rough winter and very wet summer so haven't got my 2003 CLK 320 out of the garage. yes it is a 208 body before someone yells at me. The clk cab was carried over in 2003.
Anyhow, I have been starting it to keep it charged, but life happened and the battery actually completely died this time. I put the battery charger on it and put on the low 12V setting. I then plugged the charger in and let it charge for awhile. All the lights are strong, the windows work, radio, blower, etc. However when I turn the key to the start position it just clicks once and that's it. I then have to turn it all the way to the off position, pull the key, reinsert and try again. It will not try twice and everything else still works. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be. It has always started on the first try so I'm shocked.
Need some help I have to get it fixed by my anniversary, I've been informed! Yikes! lol

Sorry Guys, I've been SLAMMED!
It was the battery, it was the original, was identified as a 2001!!! My car is an 2003 cab, so that means the battery lasted for 14 YEARS!! Wow! Wish they made em like that still!
Anywho, popped the new battery in, reset a few things and she purred. Replaced the radiator this last weekend & I can drive her for the last 2 weeks of summer.
now to get rid of the steering vibrations. Is there a way to adjust the slack our of the gear box? I know I need a new damper, but the rest of the steering seems tight with the exception of play at the gear box. I'm lucky enough to have a lift at my disposal for weekends so I can get what ever it might need and replace it.
The stealership is 3 1/2 hours away so I'm in no way going there for easy fixes.

Every 4 years or 50,000 miles, the steering gear bolts (W208 CLK and W202 C-class) are should be retorqued.
See http://www.fitzhughmedia.com/MBF/sgb.html for details.
