NAPA had Mobile 1 on sale last month at $5.99 / quart, which after rebate comes to $3.59 / quart.

Excuse my non imperial knowledge, so a Quart is 1.13 litres and our CLK's needs approx 5 Quarts or (5 litres) of enginer oil.
Are you telling me that for this amount of oil it normal only costs $29.95 ? and with the rebate just $17.95??

Google exchange rate today shows this to be £19.79 and discount to £11.87 !!!??

I can tell you that the for one 'quart' (1 Litre) in the UK the cheapest I can get this for is $26 or (£17) . The 5 quart container = $75.81 (£50) !! see link...

A1EK...........I believe that the differences you point out, have to do with marketing, competition and that your country's retail pricing also includes a value added tax (i.e. VAT).

The following links compare the MB recommended 5 liter container of Mobile 1 0W-40 in the UK at http://www.halfords.com/motoring/eng...e-0w-40-oil-5l vs. the 5 quart container at http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W...5-qt./23636902 in the U.S.

While a liter contains slightly more fluid than a quart (e.g. about 5%), the differences in pricing is difficult to comprehend.

Additionally, applying the current Mobile 1 $12 rebate offer to a 5 quart container purchase would bring it's price down to $14.44 or $2.89 / quart.

I bought Mobile 1, 0W-40 Euro blend, for $5.79 / quart. On a 5 quart basis, with the $12 rebate, that works out to be only $3.39 / quart.

They also had Zerex G-05 on sale for $12.99 / gallon. That was for concentrated G-05 too, not the 50/50 premix version with H20.

I also picked up the OEM Mann HU718/5X oil and C301952 air filter for less than I could find them anywhere on line.
