Triptonic - I need to smack the damn thing to shift.
Hey guys. I'm in the market for a CLK430, and theres a nice one nearby that I'd like to get.
Problem is, the triptonic shifter doesn't shift as easily as it does in my C320 or as easily as my CLK320. I need to literally hit it to the left or right to shift up or down, as opposed to gently moving it to either side. If I decide to purchase this car, how would I fix it? I dont want to use the force of 1000 suns to downshift to second.

I use tiptronic mainly when the engine is cold to move up the gears quicker. If you pull up the center shifter wooden panel, and have a look to see if there is a lot of spilt fluid, if so ask for a reduced price.
