2000 CLK430 2025 keyfob battery dies, in 2 days
After the 2000 CLK430 would not start with the keyfob inserted, I moved 2 2025 batteries that were working in a GL450 key fob. The CLK430 would start after inserting they key would still not lock the doors.
Looked for Energizer or Duracell batteries. No stores had 2025s in any brand within 15 miles. I must have checked 4 Walmarts and Harbor Freight Tools.
Bought RayOvacs from the last Walmart I visited. Car would start and key locks/unlocks for about two days.
Changed them again and wrapped with plastic scotch tape over the batteries inside the keyfob this time. Worked again, just for two days.
No Keyless Go here.
Key kept in same location as before, inside the house.
Tried 2032s: too thick to be able to insert into the keyfob.
Even RayOvacs should last more than two days. Will try energizer or duracell when available but, any ideas what might be wrong?
Thank you.

Any battery will do so long as the voltage and current are the same. However personaly I agree that go with a good brand to avoid issues as you get what you pay for.
The batteries should last for years and so suggests you have a short inside your fob, the button is being pressed continuously somehow or you have a loose connection inside your fob.
Check the voltage of the batteries are strong with a multimeter.
Remove the inside of your fob and check for signs of water ingress or dirt behind the lense. To remove the circuit there are videos on youtube, you will find there is a small clip inside you need to unclip. Good luck.
