1998 CLK 320 W208 Instrument Panel upgrade
So I have a bunch of pixels dead on my instrument panel so I figured it would be a good time to have some fun and instead of just repair the lcd I would look into a newer unit or AMG one for a newer look. Any suggestions on what would be a compatible fit for my 1998? I love my car but after 260K reliable miles I think she deserves a face lift.

CLK W208
the cluster off of the 2000 and up clk will work just fine. its a plug and play no programing needed. how ever you will not have the clock adjustment and will have to plug it in at exactly 12pm or am because when you plug the cluster in or disconnect the battery it sets the cluster clock to 12. the next thing is the gear indicater box next to the clock, it will just light up solid which doesn't look bad at all, it just wont show what gear you are in. you can also add the steering wheel buttons so you will have the clock and menue adjustments but you will need to do some wiring to the back of the cluster from the clock spring, so you will need the new cluster, new steering wheel, new airbag and buttons and new clock spring from 2000 and up clk w208.

I just researched doing the same thing with mine. looks super easy. i believe the bolts are 6mm so as long as you have the long metal tool to pull the instrument cluster out from the dash and a 6 mm socket youll be good to go.
