Car shuts down intermittently every few weeks and then runs fine again
I have a 2006 Mercedes CLK 350 Convertible. Car runs great. However, every few weeks the car shuts down right after starting it up and then all Dashlights come up and the power steering freezes up for a moment.
After that I can start the car just fine and it runs great for weeks.
We had the car with several mechanics even Mercedes Benz in Santa Barbara. However, after several and lengthy tests nobody could find the issue. Just recently we replaced the camshaft sensor- the car ran fine for 5 weeks but yesterday it shut down again- this time 3 times before I could get it out of the garage.
Strange, I know. If there is anybody who can give advise, I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks in advance.

Out Of Control!!
Intermittent issues without faults are very difficult to pin point even with factory diagnostics---you gotta start with the basics--A-what shuts down your engine?--any number of electrical and fuel issues--B-what electrical issues--crank\cam sensors,ECU,throttle body,SAM--C-what fuel issues--fuel pump regulator, fuel rail pressure sensor, fuel pump---bla bla--you get what I mean---and we love it because of loads of billable time=money=keeps the wife and kids happy
