Anyone ever replace one? I was hoping to just pop it out...

Mine slides out with little effort. Although I don't remember if it was that easy before swapping the HU a gazillion years ago. If you have HU keys, sliding the HU forward should make quick work of it. Pulling the ashtray won't help. I hope that helps.

Quick hijack... anyone have the MB part number for this cubby? Mine is getting sticky and crumbling at the edges.

Thanks in advance!

Seems mine is the same, actually i believe its the heat when i leave her outside along w/the volume buttons. I know it's a long shot, but has anyone replaced the rubber volume knob.
Thank you in advance.

I replaced my volume knob. The knob, the button, the Atari pong type display, the 1960’s era cassette, and the dialer for the analogue phone that's no longer supported . . . . . . . all of it was replaced with a new head unit.

And just so I'm not completely jacking the thread (although I know I am, but the 208 forum needs all the traffic it can get), the cubby can be replaced by a HU too. Just go double DIN. Now's a good time for someone to start an Android double DIN thread. And offer to sell the $60 cubby that you don't use for half-price.
