2002 CLK430 Unable to locate engine noise
Hello,
2002 CLK430. 90k miles. Extremely well maintained since day 1. For about the last 6 months, there has been a small squeak that can be heard from the right side of the engine when cold. Once the car warms up, it is gone. It is NOT the following:
a. Alternator - brand new
b. Water pump - brand new
c. Idler Pulley - brand new
d. Viscous fan clutch - brand new
e. Serpentine belt - brand new
f. Tensioner - brand new
I have used my stethoscope, but just cant seem to find it. It sounds like it so coming from the area of the alternator, but I just cant track it down. Any ideas? Maybe the timing chain tensioner?? Again, it goes away completely once the car warms up.
Thanks for your thoughts.
