2005 Mercedes CLK55AMG
05 CLK55 AMG rough idle
I have a 2005 CLK55 AMG and it has a rough idle. For example, when I am stopped at a light, you can feel a lot of vibration coming from (what I would guess) the engine.
I took it to a Mercedes mechanic did a tune up (got the spark plugs and the high voltage wires replaced and tried the Bosch and Mercedes OEM parts, and decarbonated it). This barely made a difference.
I've read a few of the threads here, but they all seem a tad bit outdated and without a solution, I was wondering if anyone figured out this problem.

You may want to post this in the AMG forum as well
I would ask, is it just at idle that you have vibrations? Ie does the car run nicely or are you feeling vibrations at all times? If so, it may be worth checking engine and even transmission mounts. Also check clearances around things like the alternator just to make sure nothing is touching that shouldn't. A friend told me about a turbo diesel vehicle where the turbo was making contact with the body after what they believe was a body shunt by the previous owner.
In my CLK55 I can certainly feel the motor at idle, in a similar way that you can feel a big block motor in older cars. This is more so after a hard run. I'm guessing you have something much more than this though...

I agree motor and transmission mounts are probably the source. Did the Mercedes mechanic check the mounts before the tuneup?
