Transmission problem..Trying not to panic.

...I have a 04 clk500 that was leaking coolant from top hose as well as transmission fluid from the line going to the radiator. I decided to change the radiator and after having some problems with the clip holding the transmission line i finally got it to hold. After driving for about 5 minutes i saw some smoke and pulled over to find transmission fluid poring from the radiator line..on the way back to the house i noticed the transmission was a bit sluggish. I fixed the line and I added some trans fluid to replace what i lost but now when i put the car in gear, it takes a couple of seconds to kick into gear and the car barely want to move...I'm hoping that this is not a serious transmission problem and im "trying not to panic"......Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you may have contaminated the fluid. You might try a trans fluid flush once you have the radiator issue worked out.
