Unhappy Speed Sensor???

I have a 2001 CLK 55 and I am having the Pioneer AVIC-9DVD Navigation System installed into the vechicle... The installers are have a tough time hooking the speed sense wire to the Speed Sensor. Does anyone know a way to get the speed sense wire hooked up?

You can tap into it at the ESP module which is located on the passanger side kick panel. I forget the color of the wire. If the installer is using a voltmeter to check for a pulse signal they should find it. I had the same problem when installing my Kenwood NAV unit and finally had to bribe someone at MB to print me out the schematics for the Speed sensor wire.

Let me know if this works for you, if not I can try to dig up the wiring diagram.

Thank YOU I have spoken with the installers... They would like to see the diagrams so that they can get a better understanding...

When they tapped into your ESP did you ESP work as it was supposed to?

You will find the VSS (variable speed sensor) in the kick panel of benz, It can be found in pin 6 of a blue thing, If I can recall correctly it is a blue violet wire.

ESP works fine, all you need to do is splice into the VSS wire that runs into the module. This won't effect the ESP at all.

Sorry, but I looked for the wiring diagram and couldn't fint it. Hopefully, they have found the wire by now.

you guys are good!

I wonder if you're reliable though! I still think the dealers the better choice, cause you don't wanna end up blowing something up do you?
