Music quality no longer there

For a friend. He has a 1999 clk320 with bose. He had a Kenwood dvd screen added and the quality of the music went down. I still believe the bose amp is hooked up because it was warm(pretty generic way of testing but i dont know much about systems). Isn't the amp suppose to be bypassed when installing an aftermarket deck? Since the sound isn't that great he wants to install new inside speakers and two subs. Can any of you give us some direction of what to do? thanks.

How bad is the sound quality. It is a PITA to bypass the amp, in all installations I have done, I retained using the bose amp. Usually it sounds great, except you get distortion at high volumes because the new headunit feeds more voltage to teh amp.

I would just run new wires to the doors from the headunit if you want to bypass the amp, because I have no idea what kind of pin out the amp has on it or what colors go where to bypass it..

As far as upgrading speakers, you really dont have much selection because the bose speakers are ususally 2 ohm, so a 4 ohm speaker will not be as loud when used with the FACTORY amp..

The best thing to do if you want good sound is just run new wires to the door and install a decent set of speakers in each.

Good advice....considering the leads in and out from the amp are ALL brown. To bypass it that way you would need a schematic of the amp and even so, it'll still be a PITA. If you want the schematic...drop me a line...I have it here somewhere
