59 - I feel like an old fart on this forum but still consider age a mental condition.

That's good to know because the wife and are in the market for an ML starting this weekend. Our little '05 C class has been the best and most reliable car I have every owned but I miss having the extra room and versatility of a sport-ute. Not sure what will do with the C yet, maybe give it to the daughter.

I love the ML as a daily. While gas mileage is not the best at 16-17mpg, it is great for a 5000lb truck. Only negative about the ML is the I have but one option pretty much for tire replacements at 335 a piece. The Toyo's I was going to buy this spring are discontinued.

If I were you, I'd really check into the diesel MLs. Fantastic machines IMO.

I had a late MY2001 ML320 (did factory delivery as the MY2002's were in final testing). Looking back, it was may favorite vehicle of all time. I had some issues with it, but they were finally all resolved under warranty. I really wish I had not sold it. Back in 2006, my plan was to sell it and buy a 2002/2003 ML55, but it sold FAST and then I couldn't find what I wanted. I ended up with a BMW X3, which was a nice car, but the W163 ML was till my favorite. Honestly, though, the wife's current 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a pretty nice SUV. It's based on the current W166 ML. The Jeep isn't a Mercedes-Benz, but it rides well with good utility.

Thanks for the feedback gents It's going to come down to a 2011 ML350 w/AMG package or a 2012 Caddy SRX, fantastic looking little ride at a hell of a good price.

32 over here!
I had the w164 07 ML 500 and the 6.3 and let me tell you it is VERY comfortable, for me it sat to high, you had a feeling to sit in a high truck, wich was COMFORTABLE TO GET IN AND OUT but ugly to drive...you sit definately to high, overview is very good except the back, make sure you get the Parkcontrol unit. If you have a tight parking place dont do the ML stunt.
I dont regret that I got rid of them MLs, everytime you go to get groceries, you can buy whatever you want....the ML trunk is still not overfilled lol
Over time the bushings need to be replaced underneath the car and if you want to change a daylight running bulp youll gonna have to go to the dealer because there is no space to get to it in the normal way. Its a ML and you need to know what you are going to be involved with. Yep ML is nice but also has its sideeffects ;-)
