Yep, but she's actually my step-granddaughter. My wife had her daughter at a very young age and then her daughter had the granddaughter young, too. My wife is a couple of years older than me. For the most part, we raised the granddaughter as our own child.

'04 CLK500 for when I want to relive my go-kart days (most of the time), maybe do some drifting. God, I love it! Plus, here in retirement-land, MBZ don't usually get pulled over for 'little' things (like speeding). Mostly just when the drivers obviously should quit driving, like running through a store window. And yeah, I smoke cigars in my car... driver window open, vent on high, special ash tray, not the car's, and no butts out the window... butt hay, I smoke cigars riding the Harley, too. Cigars! Mmmmm!
Wife's '07 R320 CDI for when I need to haul some stuff or other people ... or when my bod tells me I'm 70. Sure, you go ahead and laugh. Wait 'til YOUR prostate starts clogging up. (cue snapping latex glove)

I hear you Bro. I love my cigars but the cardiologist told me a month ago, "with AF you have to choose between your cigars or your life". After fighting him for 7 years my wife said "maybe we should listen". I'm 72 in about 10 days and I sure do miss my Cigars. Anyone asks you "ain't middle age great"? Tell'em "NO" but it does beat the alternative.

My humidor is full, and I can't just toss 'em. So...
But your Doc and wifey are right, really. I suppose. Sigh. GL with the AF. I think I have that too. It's like when you first started 'messing around' with girls, isn't it?
If my Doc only knew how I drive, he'd probably want me to keep puffing.

I can't say if you are the elder or not; you have more years than me, but here's a story;
In 2002/3 (in my early 50s) I bought a G35 (their first year on the market). I was cruising around the neighborhood just enjoying and getting to know the car. Teenagers were going crazy over the car as I passed. A much more "senior" (very senior) neighbor flagged me down and asked "Why would a guy your age buy a car like this".
Putting my first thoughts aside, I replied " Well, I figured if I put it off till later it would just be a worst situation" and drove off, in a respectful way......
Pets and cars totally ignore age...

LOL! When I was a teenager, I used to lust after nice cars. It always seemed that the best, sportiest cars were driven by "old guys". I never could understand that. I figured "old guys" should be driving a Buick or a Mercury or maybe a Cadillac. But once I became one of those "old guys", I realized that being old doesn't mean that I have to punish myself with a "sofa on wheels". Oh, and it helps to get the AARP discount on my car insurance.

AND...... I was an old guy before I could afford a really nice car..... and I'll be dang if I get beaten by that catch 22......

35, my first MB (not including family MB), was a CLK350 that was totalled in an underground parking deck collapse.
I then purchased a CTS-V, didn't like the ride quality, and got an Audi B8 A4, didn't like the ride quality, and came back to the CLK again yesterday!! It's really an amazing car, after all these years I think it still beats the competition out of the water

Kudos to jrsteinmd who now is the oldest owner in the CLK pool. As former, I think, reigning
"Old Goat" I'm abdicating my position on Thursday when I pick up the W 221 S 4.5. Bad knees, sciatic nerve and bad hip problems finally got the best of me in my getting in and out of the CLK. I'll leave her with fond memories but once you own an S class it's hard to go to another type, just my opinion of course.

My knees are far from what they once were. But make sure the new ride is indeed easier to enter and exit. I recently had a loaner C300 and for me it was horrible. It was difficult for me to gracefully enter and exit (especially exit) and while driving I felt as though the B pillar was about to attack me.
I was 6'1" when I was 25, but a little bit shorter now (6'.6250") and I felt cramped in the C. For sure there is more space in an S; I'm just saying.
