That looks sweet advans! Can't wait to put mine on!
Let us know when you get your new box. It's got to be kick a$$ if your letting this baby go!
Question: That little tube coming out of the left Y pipe tube, is that suppose to be connected some where? If not, capped off maybe?

Today I completed the ///AMG 55K Airbox install!
Installed:
* ///AMG 55K Airbox and Engine Cover
* BMC Air Filters
* Kevlar Intake Tubes
I noticed an improvement in throttle response and Highway Speed (Might also be due to New Air filters verses the old ones installed).
Thanks to all the MBworld members who's participated in this thread. Its because of their experience and feedback, I was able to complete this Mod.
Now the Pics (all of have been added to my profile album)!
///AMG 55K Airbox Installed
Airbox, BMC Filters, Kevlar Intake Tubes
Heat wrap underneath the Airbox
Kevlar verses Plastic air intake ducts
Teaser pic for my next mod!

wow that looking good man. Now question for the AMG tips, are those authentic or knock off ? They look real to me but jsut wana make sure. I bought me a set of C55 tips already. Did you buy that E55 airbox from Advan ?

Now for your questions:
* These are NEW authentic ///AMG tips for an SL55 I bought from MBworld forum sponsor MBenznl.
* The 55k airbox was bought from MBworld member moneyone.
* The tips are 4-3/4" wide each, but on the other thread you want the side (two tips) measured, is that correct? If that's the case then its 9-3/4" wide!
Good luck!

Airbox looks good! Would you happen to have a part # for it?

Thanks Wes, the airbox has several part numbers; the Y-pipe, L/R hoses, L/R airbox and engine cover.
I don't have those part number off hand, but if I ever get a chance; I'll update this thread.
Parts.com has good prices on the airbox components, you might want to give them a try (pick a 55K car and search for "air intake").

Thanks man, I have the #'s for the kevlar tubes already. I want to start tracking down all the components to do this mod soon. Probably have a question or two in the future so you will be hearing from me...

Is it supposed to be like that? I want the look of the AMG airbox... where the engine top is visible and not covered with plastic or the box...
I see that guy is leaving MB soon.. I just check the new car he is getting... and damn he is a lucky guy to have one like that...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyyPf12Agw8
I wouldn't dare touch that car if I get one.. I guess you won't find third party parts for that car anyway lol.. I was thinking of keeping my cars to MB from now on.. but hey.. youtube clip made me think maybe I can save that much! lol.. I wish!

^yeah it looks the same!
sorry I haven't gotten back to you abt the airbox or the headlights yet Wes,
I think I decided to not sell them, I thought I would be short on cash for the new M3 parts, but I can manage to roll through!
