if thats the case i would send it back if not get yourself those clips that put wires together without having to splice and a small 10ohm resistor.

Lol, I still haven't been able to take one off yet without breaking it. I bought a couple spares on parts.com for $5 each. Yea I painted it myself with some plastic spray paint.

It has been the only way I have been able to do it. The problem is you can't get a good grip on the middle of the star because of the circle around it. I have to break the circle to be able to pull out the star..lol

Not to bump a super old thread, because I was actually looking at emblems but since the license plate LEDS came up what is the bulb size that we need for our rear license plate housing?
I want to do the LEDS as well but make sure it has the resistors to prevent any errors..
Thanks,
-Nigel

I have the CF inserts on my rear emblem and looks great...always get compliments on it. One word of advice, leave the emblem chrome it will make the CF stick out more especially at night when light hits the star.

I've never done anything with the emblem; I use 3M double sided tape (it has a red backing/cover) for the letter/number badge. I believe it is essentially the same as what the OEM uses.
You DON'T want to use the white and green tape used for pictures, etc.

You will need to trim the tape to fit within the pocket (between the edges). The tape is slightly thicker than the letters so when you press it on, the back of the letter is just barely off the surface of the car.
