Dynomite's Dual Exhaust Thread

As some of you know I am in the process of switching to a dual exhaust on my CLK320. I have already switched the rear sway bar to the CLK BS sway, and also switched the spare wheel well to the center positioned CLK55/CLK63/C55 well.

I finally found a reputable exhaust shop to do my work. They took the measurements for the mufflers and recommended I go with Magnaflow part # 11148. He was able to install the Magnaflow X-pipe with 2.5" SS tubing. He did a great job with the bends and the welding is spot on! Parts and Labor came out to $230 for this job, which IMO is not bad at all. Now I just need to wait for the 2 Magnaflow mufflers and the Heat Shield to arrive.

Below I listed the parts and part #'s needed to make this possible. Also some pictures of the progress so far (Crappy iPhone). Hopefully it will be done in the next week.

BTW: Those tips of pipe pointing down at the end are there just to aim the sound away while I drove it home. They will be removed once I get the muffler.

CLK BS rear sway 209 326 03 65
CLK55/CLk63/C55 spare wheel well 209 610 05 75
Heat Shield Left 209 680 00 22 (Already on the car)
Heat Shield Right 203 682 46 71
Hexagon Nut w/ Collar (Qty. 3) 210 990 0150
Bolt (Qty. 8) 210 990 00 04

hi, i am new to the site. i just got a 2008 clk350 and i want to do the same. where did you get the work done? $230 for parts and labor? wow that is really low. i talked to the guy at the parts department at the dealership and he said it is complicated to do the dual exhaust and will cost over $5,000 in parts and labor. is there any complications for your mod?

Hello and Welcome. The prices you were quoted were probably for OEM parts through the dealer. I bought the OEM parts through parts.com which is much cheaper. The $230 was just for the piping and installing the X-pipe. That doesn't include the labor it will cost to install the mufflers which shouldn't be more than $150. This mod has given me a hard time only because I haven't had anyone to reference off of. As far as I know member PTE and I are the only ones to have tried it and neither of us is done yet. I will get the details for everything when I get home and post all the prices.

thanks for your reply, cant wait to get all that info...I recently bought a 2008 clk350 and live in LA/Orange County Area. I am looking into doing a few mods to the car, can anyone help me? I been talking to a few people and all I been getting is negative comments like...modifying the engine, lighting, and exhaust of the car will cause the computer to signal failing of the engine or lighting, depending on what mods I have done. Anyways, here is what I want to do...

1. 19" rims
2. AMG rear spoiler
3. dual exhaust system
4. mod the ecu to gain hp
5. all around body kit (preferably add-on)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an OEM AMG spoiler for sale. What color is your car? Don't worry about those negative people. You are in the right place now.

What kind of suspension do you have? I never seen a shock designed to mounted upside down like that. I know it can only mounted one way. Usually, the housing of the shock is on the bottom.
