2006 CLK 500, wife's is a 2014 E3504M
I started with a 1984 SEC 500 then moved to a 1989 SEC 560 next came the 99 CLK 430 and two years ago while I was stoped I was rear-ended by a guy traveling 50 mph. I wasn't hurt (sore for a couple of days) but not hurt. If I'd been driving a ricer, I'd be dead. Sweet car with a bit of muscle and damn safe in an accident.

Glad to hear you are OK. 50 mph? WTF was the other driver doing? Usually injuries to accidents like that can take few years to show on your body.
In your case I hope I'm wrong.
CLK430 was/is a really nice power machine.

CLK-320 Convertible 2005
I didn't know that the CLK-320 [W209] was my dream car until the local
used luxury car dealer showed it to me, since I needed 4 seats and wanted
a convertible. The pewter [gold] exterior is gracefully beautiful, and the
cream leather interior is lovely. Love how she drives, and am still reading
the LONG owner's manuel, after less than a month.

2000 E320 Original Owner 2007 CLK550 Cabriolet 2015 S600
Owned an E320 since new so I have had good luck with MB. Was looking for an early 2000s convertible CLK55. Wife wanted a newer car so I started looking at later models. Was impressed that the CLK550 had as much hp as the CLK55. Briefly looked at CLK63 but decided against it not only on price buy also upkeep. Also looked at BMW 3 series. Found the CLK550 on the internet at a good price and flew down to Tampa and picked it up. Got the engine replaced under warranty so the car has 22000 miles and the engine has 800 miles.

2014 911S & 2013 E92 M3 CP
I have been a BMW guy for the last few years and had been looking for an E92 335i for months. I finally decided to broaden my search and added the 550. I began to research here and a few other sites and watched a bunch of reviews and videos on YouTube that really impressed me. There are aspects of each car that I appreciate, but overall for me the 550 is the better value. V8 with 382hp/390tq , 7 speed trannie, iPod, nav, incredible stock exhaust, AMG package, paddle shifter, drilled rotors, great steering wheel... I could go on. All I have to say is that Mercedes now has my respect! This car is a beast and is a joy to drive.

Oh, and you should have seen my friend's face, a 335 owner, when I took him on a "spirited" drive through the country. If nothing else, this most definitely confirmed that I made the right decision!

My mine reason is about 20 years ago my mom and pop where hit head on there way home from my sister house, they where driving Mercedes Benz can not recall what model but the officer said that car saved there life.

Every since then I wanted a Mercedes and about 2 months ago I had a my chance to get a killer deal on a CLK.

^^^ One of the best reasons I can think of Louie.

Hey, I was just looking at your beach pictures featuring your 550 looking beautiful in silver, and I was wondering if that wind deflector came with your car. Also, is that what those two holes, one to either side of the rear seat, are used for?

Yea the wind deflector sure did and that's exactly what those holes are for, There are a few sites online around and ebay 100 to 200 bucks or so. It works great.

CLK350
Was looking to get a C350 but it was a bit out of the budget. The CLK just kinda fell into my lap. Love it, although I wish it were the 550.

Yes, after horsing with the CLK for a year or so, I just figured I was too old for that model. Needed an old man's car.

Thanks a lot. That's what I was thinking. I'll probably do the clear side markers and leave it at that. I need to look up the name of the color, have no idea. It has 68K but it looks and smells brand new inside. Somebody really took care of it. I can't believe they depreciate so much, but that's great for me. Somebody took a $100K hit. One of the guys on this board is a good friend and he has a 2003 CL55 and he runs in a group of Mercedes Gearheads/Tuners with lots of connections for parts and service, plus I bought a great, no deductible, two year warranty so I can keep it in top condition.

Yeah look up the color name if you could, it's really nice. I think you should leave the side markers as they are. It's a nice contrast to the car and looks more OEM.

Will do on the side markers. I think. And it is probably Tectite Gray Metallic or possibly Black Opal Metallic.

Jhouse - nice ride! Had I been a more informed buyer I would have got a cl55 (factory blown car) instead of my clk55.

I'm in Sugar Land and we have AMG meet-ups at Otto's occasionally.... will keep you posted.

2008 CLK350 Cabriolet
My wife really, really wanted a convertible. She's been driving the 10-year-old family sedan, we were new empty-nesters, she wanted something a little luxurious. We bought it, a CLK350 Cabriolet certified-used with just under 18K on the clock. Thrilled with it so far. We love the build quality and all the "over-engineered" little touches, right down to the trunk hinge mechanism! The only thing we don't like is the COMAND navigation system; a $150 Garmin Nuvi does a better job.

Rear Seat Holes

The rear seat holes on each side are for attaching a baby car seat.
I asked at the dealer when I got my CLK 320 cab.

That COMMAND is what must be in my car. It would be ten times quicker to read a map.

Confirmed through VIN and original window sticker it is Tectite. Did you know there were only 611 of these built for 04? The number in that color has GOT to be low.
