Carl they look really good on your car. Are you planning on lowering it?

Lorinser RS8s love'em.... So hard to get though! And if you do find them, they're insanely pricey.

Eddie, all I know is that the original SLR wheel was made to draw air away from the brake rotors in a centrifugal fashion, hence the look and design of the wheel - that means the wheels are directional from side to side. Whether or not the wheels are actual or replicas, the same principles should still apply, same as high end brake rotors, the cooling veins are directional from side to side. In the end, it's your car and your desicion but there is a reason the original wheel was designed the way it was.
The picture of the single wheel you posted above should be on the drivers side of the car.

They have them different on both cars. The CLK has them in the traditional way the SLR does, the SL has them on backwards.

I just looked at mine real close (neighbors think I'm obsessed with my car, lol) and I don't think they're "different on both cars;" they're all mounted the same and they look different on each side.
![]() I think all four of my wheel/tire sets are identical, thus two seem to go one way on the left while the other two go the other way on the right. The tires are marked "outside" and "inside," and the wheels obviously have an outside and an inside, so does that mean I have a mis-matched set of tires? I don't see any directional marks on them.....

I guess the company you bought the wheels from doesnt supply them directionally, the wheels on the drivers side fan correctly, those on the passenger side do not. In the end it only matters if you're happy, they do look really good on your ride.

Thanks discoduck. I am thinking to lower it this summer. Are the H&R 1.4F and 1.3R springs from Tire Rack good with stock struts?
Thanks eddieo45, I will try next time when I have new pics to upload. |

Hi guys!
I'm kind of new here I read this forum for a long time but it is my first post.Hi have a Mercedes CLK from 2006. I bought 19 inch rims from a class E AMG. It is F 245 and R 265. When I was installing them I discovered that the bolts that I had don't fix the new rims. Should I buy new bolts from the class E? I guess my bolts are M12.. Anyone had this problem? how can I solve it? Thank you guys! |

I think bolts are often too long for C/CLKs. I had to cut the bolts down for my rears cuz they were hitting the e-brake. You need shorter bolts but not W211 bolts; those have a bigger radius/diameter and won't fit in the hole. It might take a little trial and error but you probably want new chrome bolts anyway, rather than use the beat-up original ones, lol. Nice wheels BTW.....

i want to put a new set of wheels on my car. i have a 08 clk 550. the wheels are 18x8.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. im not sure of the offset but the guy claimed the wheels came off a 05 clk so they should fit. ill be running 225/40 F and 255/35 R. thanks

255 may be a bit stretched on a 10.5 wheel. Dependent upon the the offset, a 275 would better.
I had a 10.5 rear wheels on my 350Z and ran 285's which were dead flush with the rim to sidewall.

Ook. Thanks bro. I went to look at them and they are not 10.5 width. They are more like 9.
Anyway they do fit my hub but my original lugs dont lock the wheel in. Could I jus need a different set of lugs for these wheels? |

Looking for a 18in flush look.
From Wat I've been reading. I think for a new set of 18s the recommend setup is
18x8.5F with 235/40 and 18x9.5R with 265/35 et 35 all around. My question to my fellow owners is does this setup sit flush with the rear fenders. Thanks |

Not quite right for flush with those offsets. More like a et25 and et25. I ran a 15mm rear spacer for a while in the rear with an ending offset of et20, and they "just" rubbed some over dips in the road. Same size 265/30 only in a 19".

For my winter setup, i have 17" x 8.0 all around with a 35ET all around. I added a 25mm eibach in the rear and now its flush. Fronts barely clear the front caliper though. I am picking up my car today from having a set of springs on 1.2 all around. Should be sitting pretty!
