New Round of Mods - An Ongoing Thread

Got some stuff done in the past two months.

15% FormulaOne tint with tinted tails:

Overall I love how the car looks now. I really liked the blue tint before as it made the car look very classy but this works even better. When sitting inside, you still see a slight shade of blue which looks really cool.

Tint makes the car more private and actually feels more luxurious.

Got some new audio stuff in!

Kenwood DDX418 - GPS, Bluetooth, iPod etc.
Rockford Fosgate 12" P3 subwoofer
Rockford Fosgate P400-1 Amp
Super nintendo

Don't mind the box, it says DDX514 but I had a 418 installed.

Love how the system sounds now. The 12" sub definitely gave the car more oompf to it. The built in amp in the deck also made the speakers sound much clearer and a bit louder since it provides more power.

Next on the list:

Authentic 18" Carlsson 1/16s to be fitted in 2 months. I can fit them on now since we probably won't get any snow... but last year we had a freak snow storm in April:

Click the image to open in full size.

Which pretty much scared the crap out of me since I had my summers on lol.

Pics of the Carlssons

Thinking about wrapping my AMG spoiler in Dry Carbon Fiber
Also thinking about blacking out the roof in gloss black... Not sure about this one yet.

Looking good Richie, now that you've got the windows tinted the gloss black roof is going to look fantastic. It's one of my favorite cosmetic mods on silver & white CLK's.

tint was def needed. i agree with kev, cosmetic mods on a silver and white clk really make it stand out from the rest. 15% all around? can you even see out the side?

and nice audio set up, too bad the nintendo couldnt be connected in the glove compartment =P

Yeah I'm still contemplating on doing it... Maybe when Spring gets closer so the glue can cure properly.

Yeah it's pretty dark lol. But I can still see at night. The CLKs big *** windows let a lot of light in so I knew I wouldn't be happy with anything above 15-20%.

Inside the glove box would be nice as it's concealed... It can fit but then I won't be able to change games lol.

Nice choice on the tint. I ended up going 30 because i dont want to get hassled by the cops. I also put 60 on the windshield.

Would love to tint the front windshield but I'm afraid of cops pulling me over, more than my other tint lol.

I prefer a lighter shade so the ladies can see inside and see a young sexy man is driving rather than an old man or woman that they were expecting

Yep - silver is great and really looks classy with tint. I had a silver BMW X3 with illegal tint on the front and sides and never had a cop give me a second look. I've been thinking about tinting the CLK550, but I have two strikes against - one is that I usually have the top down, so tint really does me no good except on the front windshield, and two, I don't want give the cops any additional reason to pull me over - I already get pulled over about once a month just because they think I'm a punk kid driving a nice car. Of course once the see me from the front, and my DOB on the license, they let me go. I guess I need to start wearing an old man hot to hide my not gray and not receding hair (thanks, dad, for the great genes).

Ah yeh it definitely is. In fact it's the only thing it can be. Way to think outside the box.

Got my $10 LED license plate lights in.

They're not incredibly bright which is good... About the same brightness as regular bulbs, but with a nicer, cleaner colour.

Click the image to open in full size.

Definitely makes the back end look newer

I love the LED tails that Kev and 2MCHCAR have on their cars. It's about $400 shipped so I'm going to hold off on that for a little while. I need tires for the Carlssons lol

Ummmm, welcome to the party chico...

Interesting mix you have there, a CLK55 with a CLK550 front end. looks like the factory put your AMG logo on wrong too, might want to fix that before anyone notices.

Isn't it a CLK63 front end?

This guy hijacked two of my threads with his pics. Dunno why he can't make his own thread lol. Car looks good though.
