First of all, check you center console to make sure you don't have the UHI connector. if so, all you need is a BT puck and you're set with the phone. If you don't have that, then the OEM parts will run you around $1,000 to get BT working. MBZ also offers an OEM iPod solution. It work a bit strangely. It only uses the AUX input function on the head unit, but it supports text display via the instrument cluster's MFD, and playlist and track selection via the steering wheel buttons. Other than volume, the head unit has no iPod control It works, and works well, but if you want the passenger to be able to see the track title and control the playlist, then that is a problem.
There are some aftermarket solutions. cartronics.com (though the website doesn't seem to be working right now - maybe its down for maintenance?) gas a solution for both Bluetooth and iPod that costs around $800. The phone interface is basically the Viseeo adapter that emulates the OEM interface, but does not connect to the built-in mic; it uses its own mic. The iPod integration emulates a CD change with text display on the head unit and control via both steering wheel and head unit. I'm not sure what iPod adapter they use - I don't believe cartronics makes their own stuff, I think they just repackage other company's electronics with some value-add features.

Unfortunately the owner of cartronics passed. (RIP) they closed down for now.
Cartronics has closed... I was able to get my OEM parts from a guy on ebay installed for 650.00 included the puck forgot his name though. I did end up getting a Viseeo MB2 puck because it had voice dailing unlike the MB puck. Last edited by Louie D; 04-07-2012 at 07:28 PM. |

Cellguy@live.com puts the BT parts together and offers install support, about $650 like Louie said.
