It's not a hard linkage (it's drive by wire) so it should be possible to modify it. I know what you're talking about. What I really hate (and this is an across the board MBZ thing) is how the brake pedal sits closer than than the accelerator. That's one of the few things I like better about BMW - they know how to position the pedal "just right".

Yeah I was poking around just now, comparing the positioning in the CLK vs my Z4 and I came to the conclusion that the Z4 pedals are just done better full stop. The brake pedal in the CLK is too close and too far to the left IMO.
Took a look at the contraption but not 100% sure how to affect it. Its dark out now though so I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow. Looks like there MIGHT be an adjustment between the DBW sensor arm and the upper end of the pedal. The bottom of the pedal is that curved piece of rubber, not sure if that can be adjusted. |

Hm. So I managed to make it a bit better by stuffing some washers underneath the bottom mounting point. However, still not as good as it could be.
Oddly enough I think part of the problem is also the lack of range on the seat cushion adjustment. I can't get enough support under my knees without tilting the chair way back, to the point where it feels like I'm looking at the sky. Don't have the same issue in the GLK. Massively annoying. Whats the point of an uncomfortable Merc.

Odd, I find the CLK's to fit me almost perfectly. I would prefer for the brake pedal to be further forward, i.e. more even with the accelerator, but that's just how MBZ's are made. BMW does have a better "heel-toe" pedal arrangement, and they do make some comfortable seats, but MBZ's just feel more "substantial" to me.

I'm 6'3" (well, I used to be, maybe more like 6'2" these days). II have a 32" inseam (My height is more in my torso than legs) and I like to sit more reclined and with my knees and elbows slightly bent. My steering wheel sits fully back and fully down. I have the seat cushion fully lowered, and then I raise the leading edge about 25%.
