2004 CLk 240 sat nav update problem!
Hello everyone!
i have a 2004 CLK 240 and as the sat nav can no longer be updated I wish to replace it but I have no idea what I should be looking for to fit in the space and keep it neat and tidy!
can anyone help me?

You can use any double-DIN sides unit. You will need a faceplate adapter kit. I know you say you have a "2004", but since it's a CLK240, I know you aren't in the USA (maybe you should update your user profile so we at least know what country you are in). In other countries, the "plate year" and "model year" are not the same thing. So, we need to know what model year your car is. If it is MY2004, then you have the pre-facelift version. If it's actually MY2005, you have the facelift. These use different faceplate adapters. The easiest way to determine is this:
pre-facelift (MY2004):
Post facelift (MY2005)
For pre-facelift, you can use the same kit as for the W203 C-class that is also pre-faceligt (i. MY2001-20014). If it's a facelift version, the adapter faceplate can be hard to find for the W209. Many will sell you the adapter for the W203, which is not an exact fit - it's wider than the W209's. I think it also has a different bolt pattern, although I have heard people say they could make it work by shaving the sides and only using two of the four bolts.
If you DO NOT have the Bose or Harmon-Kardon system, then you can also get a wiring harness that's pretty much plug and play. The only missing wiring is for switched +12v and illumination. Both of these can be tapped from the ashtray. If you have Bose or HK, then you will have to run new speaker wiring from the dash to the trunk.
