My car started dialing last week
I own a 2004 CLK320.
Last week I was driving and a message came on my car saying trying to connect. The car made a noise, I turned if off and the problem went away.
Anyone else ever experience this?
I believe my car came with some phone option.
I have owned if for 3 years and love it to death.

TeleAid is like GM's OnStar - it is a "telematics" system that allows the car to communicate with a central call system via a cell phone connection. There is a red SOS button on the overhead control panel that calls for emergencies, and "i" and "wrench" buttons inside the center console used for concierge and roadside assist calls, respectively. Your car has the older analog cellular system which is obsolete, so it can't complete the call anyhow. If you press one of these buttons, it will attempt the call and you'll have to wait until the system times out.

Sometimes pressing one of the call buttons and letting it go through an entire cycle of trying (which can take 10 minutes or so) will clear it. There may be an actual fault in the system, like a bad antenna connection, that can cause an error needing SDS to clear. Actually, the best thing would be to deactivate TeleAid, which does require SDS. Te dealar can do it - they'd probably charge an hour's labor.
