Hood Vent Removal?

Im trying to figuare out how to remove the vent on the good because I would like to paint it black but I can't for the life of me figuare it out. I did open the good and saw 2 torx screws holding it down on each end but after I removed them and tried to remove it it feel like there is more holding it down... I just can't see to find it. Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

There are little things holding it along the edges inside... Gotta pry it out. There are a lot of them... If you look carefully you can see the little squares... I suggest paint it with plasti dip with out removing it.... Just tape some important parts.... Very simple

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Yep, after removing the screws, it's just held in place by metal clips. They can be quite stubborn, and after the plastic vent has spent a few years out in the sun, it can be quite brittle and break easily.

The little squares (part of the Plastic clips) need to be pushed gently toward the center of the vent. If you push down they will not release and will break. The clips on my 07 are plastic and will break if you force them.

Spot-on.
And underline very brittle and a PITA to put back on. Ask me how I know.

I’ve never seen a video and I’ve never heard of them (this old) now not breaking a few tabs.

luckily, the screws/bolts will bolt it in place.

Dealer even needs a helper or two to pry/push/unclip while performing this task.

WIPE NEW will make them look new

My 03 SL500 had greyed vents. I taped off area around vent. Then I cleaned with a diluted isopropyl alcohol mix (50-50 distilled watter).
Next is the Wipe New cleaner, a saturated pad.
Finally is the Wipe New solution, again in a saturated pad.
Cleaning the holes and applying in the holes is challenging.
QTips are one way. They may be better.
Regardless, the product looks good and last for over a year or longer and it looks great.
