Thanks! The tips I got were stainless steel replicas made in China I believe. No issues so far and quality is there...

O nice, didn't realize you were already mostly there. The reversibility is a nice thing with doing minor exhaust mods as you can usually go back to older setups. I'm not sure how it will sound with straight pipes directly because I didn't remove the muffler until I replaced it with x-pipe, there might be some sound clips on youtube or this forum though try to find some I will look also. Removing muffler and then putting the resonators back in will yield an even different sound as will putting the resonators back in with the mangaflow... so certainly a lot of options. Certain mufflers drone harder than others too obviously, I was pretty happy with magnaflow single in and double out 14". There are a lot of very nice setups on this forum

Thanks... it was supposed to only be temporary video as I made a better quality one, but haven't gotten the chance. Really need a go-pro because of how it sounds backing off and under WoT.

Just did some more exhaust work. With no cats/resonator and just an xpipe, my cold starts were extremely noisy. Snappy noisy, the exact noise that wakes up neighbors or people at my house! I've been having to go into work earlier in the morning and also been going out more late at night so I think I will try to be tone down the sound.

So I still have my older cats and resonator and I took them back to my exhaust shop and was planning to put the resonator back on in front of the xpipe. Well one problem... after my exhaust mods a single resonator wont cut it anymore as I have 2 pipes. So I looked into the option of putting a resonator after the x pipe on both sides, glass packs if you will. I ended up going with 2 Magnaflow 4" Magnapacks, one on each side of the back half of the Xpipe.

Will post pics and review once I drive some more... overall I am really liking it

Also, I will be trying a set of Green Air Filters over my K/N and will be posting some results. Hopefully going for a Dyno run later in the summer.

I can imagine running with only an x-pipe would be a real sleep interrupter. Just finished my exhaust mod (except follow up work on the tips), using 2 resonators - x-pipe - magnaflow 2x2. I'm just having a ball with the sound and it isn't too bad on the neighbors.

I have headers, so never considered running the pipes straight through.....

I have kleemann headers, secondary cats 300 cel, and eissenman exhaust race muffs...... I put a big 3" ID aftermarket resonator after the cats to quiet things down. it took the raspy edge out which I prefer.

Hey all, haven't updated in a while.

I put 2 magnapack resonators after my xpipe, will try to get pics of the underbelly next chance I get.

I just drove 350 miles (each way) from Phx to Anaheim for Blizzcon this weekend. Car averaged 27 MPG!!!! And drove like a charm all the way, mostly with cruise control on at 82. Now if only our back seats were more conducive to getting into trouble ^^ makes me miss my old S!

Looks great! So I went to check out available offsets for the Coutures and didn't see the option of doing 30mm. I am calling tomorrow. Sweet car! Sent you a pm.

A really nice job on the car. I really like it. I am thinking of doing the same thing for my car. But unfortunately I live in Europe. I need to find a good workshop around here.

Car looks amazing!! Keep up the good work

I've been looking at doing something to get a little more sound out of my exhaust. I like how iterative yours was. I wanted to get your opinion quick. Im trying to keep my exhaust somewhat quiet, but also want some growl too.

Setup 1 - Replace the muffler with magnaflow or comparable brand, but leave stock resonators

Setup 2 - Similar to yours, cut the secondary cats and resonator, but leave the stock muffler, or slightly gut it out.

Was thinking Setup 1 would be the best, but want to hear your thoughts.

My brother has decided to sell this car after a couple years of ownership. He's done a lot of solid maintenance and repair work that comes up around 100k recently. Still looks incredible! If anyone is interested shoot me a message I'll add a link here once his sales ad is ready.

The e55 intake was taken off the car actually. I still have it in the garage, the cover was dremmelled to fit nicely.

New mass air flow sensor, new fuel sending unit and gas tank, new radiator, and other general maintenance. I had the rear main seal done at 100k before he bought it 3 years ago. It's at ~120k miles now. I'm putting together a thread now in the sales section, I'll link it here. Currently has some issues like automatic seatbelt and rear window.
