Top wont open...

Tried find a search through the site about this but was unsucessful. When opening the top, this is error i get?

Ive gone in the trunk and tried pushing the partition up but it seems to fall back down as though it is something with the struts. How do i resolve this so i do not find myself having to open the truck and manually push the partition up. ?
Btw this is just a screenshot from another car. just used it since my car is in the shop.

In your trunk, there is a movable partition which holds the convertible top. If that partition is not DOWN all the way, the top won't have a place to go. There are sensors and gas struts on that partition. Make SURE it's pulled all the way down before your attempt to lower the top.

Take it to a dealer. It’s a common problem, and as MB dealer repairs go, it isn’t very expensive to fix.

It's a dealer issue if you forget to lower your partition? Really? Your dealer must love you.

Like they said in the initial post, the partition won't stay in place, which is a common issue. The struts needs to be replaced.

For the original poster, the struts are pretty easy to replace. Do some searches here for trunk partition struts and you'll find some more info on how to do it, and what part to order.

I bought them on Ebay for around $31.00 for the pair. The part is 209 690 00 59 and they snap onto ball studs. Just a screwdriver to pop off the old ones.
The whole job is under 20 minutes.

It is not a matter concerning forgetfulness. It concerns defective struts. Read the other messages.
